Olgin, Moses Joseph (Novomski, Moissaye)

(1876-1939)

   American journalist and translator. He was born near Kiev, and began his career as a teacher. In 1913 he moved to Vienna, where he was co-editor of the Bundist Yiddish weekly Di tsayt. He emigrated to the US and settled in New York in 1914. He was a staff member of the Yiddish daily paper Forverts, and later edited the communist Yiddish daily Freiheit and the monthly Der hamer. He wrote about political affairs, literature and the theatre.
